THE “DIRT BIRDS” LAND IN HOWTH GOLF CLUB – 16th feb.
After our big successes with ABBA and Seamus Heaney before Christmas, our Theatre Nights in Howth Golf Club resume on Friday night, February 16th when we welcome the new Irish comedy sensation, the Dirt Birds.
At this time of the year we can all do with a good laugh and we can assure members that this show is guaranteed to give them the best laugh they have had in a long time. The Dirt Birds are Dundalk native Sinead Culbert and her partner in comedy Sue Collins of the renowned Nualas and this very talented comedy duo have struck gold with the fabulous sketches which make up this show.
The majority of the sketches feature hilarious scenes between the fictional Northside Dublin mums Carmel and Debs, while others feature the glamorous Southsiders, the snobbish Eleanor and Eimear who compete about everything whilst pretending their lives are sooo amazing.
‘Tips from Da Town’ sees the duo introducing Dundalk beautician Dee who is presenting a video tutorial on how to apply make up with her friend Andrea as model. The very plain Andrea has ambitions to look like Melania Trump and Dee’s attempts to achieve this have had audiences all over Ireland in hysterics.
The Dirt Birds are currently playing to packed houses all over Ireland and we are thrilled to have been able to book this fabulous act for Howth Golf Club, a show which despite it’s name will only amuse and never shock. It has been described as a great girls’ night out but the males in the audience the night we saw it enjoyed it just as much.
To quote the review of the show in The Sun ‘These brilliantly funny beauty tutorials from Dirtbirds duo will have you in stitches’
For a brilliant night of laughter, not to be missed. Tickets go on sale Saturday 3rd Feb. Only €15

Sadly I have to bring you the news that Tom Thunder passed away yesterday.

RIP TOM.
Thomas (Tommy), late of Bastow and Charlton, former Captain of Howth Golf Club, former president of Suttonians Rugby Club; sadly missed by his loving partner Nuala, cousins Bettany, Kitty, Tommy and Owen and by Paul, Yvonne, Martin, Mary and their families, relatives and friends especially his friends in Howth Golf Club and Suttonians.
Reposing at home on Tuesday (16th January). Removal on Wednesday (17th January) at 9.30am to the Church of the Assumption, Howth, for 10am Mass and Funeral afterwards to Glasnevin Crematorium. No flowers please. Donations if desired to the RNLI.
Founded in 1916 the heath land links style course was designed by the renowned golfer and course architect James Braid, a 5 times winner of “The Open” Golf Championship who can count the design of the prestigious Kings and Queens Courses at Gleneagles amongst his greatest achievements.
James was well known for including dog leg design golf holes in his course designs and the 5th hole in particular is an excellent example of how he blended a great golf hole into the unique Howth Heathers. The exceptional views from the 16th tee are worthy of mention in any golf guide.
Take the Tour
Howth Golf Club is the perfect blend of old and new. Traditional and modern trends have helped maintain the character of the golf course originally envisaged by James Braid.
A special place to play golf we are sure he would be proud of today.
Howth Golf Club is home to a unique Heathland golf course, this fine links will delight all standards of golfers visiting Dublin, ireland
