48 brave souls set out to test their metal amid the fire and brimstone surrounding the course this week. If that wasn’t enough we had also to contend with a howling gale and dense cloud – ideal “Summer” conditions!!! The Mondaynighters are made of stern stuff and though kippered, scorched and slightly overdone in some cases, managed to bring in some excellent scores.
First prize presented by Tom O’Brien.
Winner : Eoai Keogh 20pts.
2nd. Tony Brady 18pts.(20-2 prev.)L6.
3rd. Ray O’Hanlon 18pts.(20-2 prev.)

Next week is our “3 club” competition. Only 3 clubs may be taken on the course by competitors.

Convener – Mondaynighters.
Founded in 1916 the heath land links style course was designed by the renowned golfer and course architect James Braid, a 5 times winner of “The Open” Golf Championship who can count the design of the prestigious Kings and Queens Courses at Gleneagles amongst his greatest achievements.
James was well known for including dog leg design golf holes in his course designs and the 5th hole in particular is an excellent example of how he blended a great golf hole into the unique Howth Heathers. The exceptional views from the 16th tee are worthy of mention in any golf guide.
