Captains’ Prize to the Members 21st July 2012

The Competition takes place this Saturday the 21st July 2012.

A large number have booked to play already with some time remaining.

Both the Captain, Eamonn and the Lady Captain, Aveen, look forward to a great day,

To book your table for this event.

The Meal will start at 8.00pm the cost is € 25.00 per person.

The meal will be followed by a presentation of prizes and we look forward to a very enjoyable evening of good food and good company.

Gents please book your table via the Bar and Ladies, there is a list in the Ladies locker room, please put your name on this list if you wish to join us.

Congratulations to all those who finished in the prizes.

Over 150 players took part and the although the course was wet in places, it stood up very well to the heavy rains over the last few days.

A big thank you to all the Ladies who helped to check in all our competitors, members and visitors alike, a warm welcome was giving to all.

Don’t forget the Open Mixed Competition this Saturday 14th July 2012, the time sheet is open and bookings can be made online or via the office.

2012 Open Week Mixed Competition & Prize Giving Dinner

The Open Week Mixed Competition & Prize Giving Dinner will take place this Saturday Night 14th of July at 8pm.

This 3 Course Meal will be served as a buffet from 8pm. Cost per person is € 20.

You can book by placing your name and the name of your guests on the reservation plan that is located in the Hall of the clubhouse.
If you wish to attend but can’t make it to the club to put your name down, then please contact the office to do so.

We request that all those who have won a prize on Friday 13th or Saturday 14th make every effort to attend the prize giving.

Read This – Its Important – On Course Emergency Numbers

At Howth Golf Club we have an Emergency Phone Number:

That Number is 01 832 6963.

This Number is ONLY to be used in the Event of a Medical Emergency on the Course. It is NOT to be used for Contacting the club.
This Number is also printed in the Center of all scorecards.

It works very simply, should an emergency arise, call this number, stay with the injured party, describe the nature of the emergency and ensure that the Emergency Services are called.

Someone will then be sent to assist you. Make sure you tell those on the phone WHAT part of the Course you are located at.

A list of those who are Qualified in the use of Defibrillator is avaiable in the Bar or the Office.

Founded in 1916 the heath land links style course was designed by the renowned golfer and course architect James Braid, a 5 times winner of “The Open” Golf Championship who can count the design of the prestigious Kings and Queens Courses at Gleneagles amongst his greatest achievements.

James was well known for including dog leg design golf holes in his course designs and the 5th hole in particular is an excellent example of how he blended a great golf hole into the unique Howth Heathers. The exceptional views from the 16th tee are worthy of mention in any golf guide.
