On a typical Summer’s evening, with howling gale and hailstones, 39 well muffled up masochists disported their unrivaled ability to endure hardship in the pursuit of enjoyment!

As usual, some excellent efforts were produced to prove something or other.

Our Thursday Fourball competition was played in some of the best weather of the week with the easterly breeze dropping and giving a welcome rise to the temperatures which reflected in some great scoring.

The course is really beginning to take shape and the new additions are adding to the challenge. Peter Oppermann, our new Caterer took care of business in the catering department and everyone enjoyed good food and good company afterwards.

The results:

Runners Up: J. Fallon (10) & P. Hyland (+1) Castleknock with + 4 (Last 9)

Third: G. Romeri (13) & P. O’ Flaherty (28) Clontarf with + 4 (Last 6)

Fourth: P. Mahon (13) & P. Lynsky (19) with + 4 (Last 9)

The results could not have been any closer, well done to our eventual winners the Duggan’s as they feature again.

Over 70 players took part and we look forward to an even bigger turn out next week as the evenings get longer and warmer as does the fun.
