41 competitors turned out on a lovely Summers evening, albeit a bit draughty! The normal early morning constituents were somewhat hampered with gales and low flying clouds which fortunately agreed to push off around lunchtime. This was particularly fortunate as Howth were hosting the semi-final of the Fingal Seniors League between Hollywood Lakes and Westmanstown, the first effort for which was rained and clouded off on 31 July. The match was won by Westmanstown, who now meet Balbriggan in the Final at Clontarf on Friday 17 August, commencing at 10.00am. Our Captain Eamonn attended the after match function and having welcomed both teams, congratulated the winners and wished them well in the final. Both visiting managers and other dignitaries complimented the captain on our course, which was presented in superb condition and thanked Howth for hosting the event on behalf of the Fingal Seniors.
